Amateur astronomer from 1973 until 1986, working with variable stars, Juiter’s satellites, solar observations in white light, deep sky objects, meteor showers, total and grazing lunar occultations, and asteroidal occultations. In 1984 he was pioneer in observing a grazing lunar occultation at Porto Alegre city, at Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC) observatory.
